Paraffin Wax Emulsion (PA-60)
Paraffin Wax Emulsion is homogenous of stabilized dispersion of petroleum wax particles in water. It has appearance of a milky near-white liquid. PA-60 has been designed as a hydrophobing agent for  Particle board and Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) industries

Paraffin Wax Emulsion for construction board
Paraffin Wax Emulsion is a homogenous of stabilized dispersion of petroleum wax particles in water. It has the appearance of a milky near-white liquid. Paraffin Wax Emulsion has been designed as a hydrophobing agent for Particle board and Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) industries. It will have the best performance when applied separately from resin since it is not compatible.
For MDF, it can be applied to the system in 3 points i.e. at the blow line from refiner before resin that is preferred location, at the screw feeder or at the blender.

Additional Rate

The dosing rate depends on the type of raw materials. The following rates are recommended for MDF

Resin  Dosing rate (% wax on dry wood)
Urea Formaldehyde resin 0.55 - 0.85 %
Melamine-Urea Formaldehyde resin   0.65 - 0.85 %
Phenol-Formaldehyde resin 1.00 - 1.55 %

Storage and Handling
The optimum storage and handling temperature is around 15-35 oC that consequently storage tank should not be stored in direct sunlight or nearby heating source and hot area. If the temperature of storage tank rise to above 40 oC the emulsion will stratify and may separate. The tank to store wax emulsion should be bottom filled to prevent foaming that may be cause by free fall product into a tank. Paraffin Wax Emulsion is sensitive to shear force. Consequently, transfer and metering pump where used, should be low shear type such as diaphragm pumps.

Health and Safety
Paraffin Wax Emulsion has little or no adverse health effect when handled and used properly. Washing skin contact areas with soap and water after used is recommended, no special precautions are suggested to good personal hygiene. Health and Safety information are shown in Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
